Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has given operator Oi 15 days to present a reformulated version of its recovery plan. The deadline was included in a letter issued by the regulatory agency on 7 August and received by the chairman of Oi on 9 August. It has now been released by the company.

Anatel met with Oi managers on 1 August to discuss its plans for debt restructuring and business development. The regulator wants Oi to demonstrate that the company is in a position to obtain other sources of capital. Oi is in talks to raise around BRL 8 billion through a capital increase or direct financial contribution.
